On display are true alpines as well as plants of diminutive size that harmonize with, and have cultural requirements similar to alpines. These include perennials, bulbs, and miniature woody plants that are adapted to grow in the extreme environmental conditions found between the lower limit of permanent snow cover and the upper limit of the tree line on mountain tops.
