One of the highest points at Cornell Botanic Gardens and on campus, Newman Overlook provides a wondrous view of both the arboretum and far distant points on the landscape. Here you can really appreciate the bowl-shaped landscape of the arboretum, which was carved by Fall Creek’s waters beginning over 10,000 years ago.

Ring the Bell

Visitors are invited to ring the large iron bell on the overlook. It is one of the “161 Things Every Cornellian Should Do Before Graduation.”
