Description

A vigorous, sturdy, horizontally branched tree that is wider than high. Leaves unusually dark green; flowers red in bud, opening white, single. Fruit deep red, 1.25" in diameter, persistent, not dropping until spring. Subject to mild scab (Nichols). Named to honor the pathologist in charge of breeding programs at Purdue University, Lafayette, IN.
