FDA Announces the Final Rule for Food Traceability Under FSMA

News

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a final rule on food traceability under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). This rule requires persons who manufacture, process, pack or hold foods on the food traceability list to maintain records beyond what is required under other FSMA regulations. Compliance for meeting these new requirements is January 20, 2026.
