“The mission of Cornell Botanic Gardens resonates deeply with my own objective of inspiring people to connect with the natural world through education and conservation.”
About
I am the founder of Flow, an experiential farm and animal sanctuary in Zhongshan, China. I graduated from Cornell University with a double degree in psychology and French, and moved to Paris to study fashion design. After several years working in New York City as a designer for Diane von Furstenberg, I launched BK Atelier, an ethical, cruelty-free pet product brand in Hong Kong. My experience as a teaching volunteer at Animals Asia showed me the power of the human-animal bond and its potential as a teaching and therapeutic tool. I went on to pursue studies in animal-assisted therapy, humane education, ecotherapy, sustainability and conservation. Armed with eco-knowledge, I returned to my ancestral hometown of Zhongshan and gradually transformed a local petting zoo into Flow farm and sanctuary. In 2018, I was honored by the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation with the Women of Hope Eco Warrior Award.
