About
As the IPM assistant I work closely with our IPM coordinator and horticulturists to preserve the health and beauty of the collections within the Gardens and the Arboretum. I also help maintain the DeCoursey stairs garden, the pollinator strip, and the living mulch tree rings in the Arboretum. I started here in 2025 as the seasonal horticulturist co-stewarding the Bioswale Garden, and found a deep passion for working with plants and public gardens. In my current role I love being able to work across the entire Cornell Botanic Gardens to help preserve this valuable resource. Conservation has always been a huge passion of mine, so it feels good doing a job that promotes biodiversity while also being in a visually stunning location. I hold a B.S. in Conservation Biology from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry with a minor in Applied Statistics. My previous work experience includes working in tick-borne disease research at SUNY Upstate Medical University and the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Science. I've also worked for NY State Parks.
