patch of plants with green stems and pink "smoke-like" flowers

Geum triflorum

This plant is widely distributed in central and western US and Canada. The Blackfoot people of the northern great plains have infused the plant as a general tonic and to treat severe coughs. The Okanagan (Syilx) people of British Columbia and north-central Washington have infused the roots to reduce fevers, treat yeast infection, and treat flu symptoms. The Nlakapamuk people of southern British Columbia have steamed plants in a sweatbath for joint and muscle stiffness.
