Monarda punctata
Native across the entire continental U.S., spotted bee balm is a recognized medicinal plant in many Indigenous communities. Between the Lenape Nation of the eastern coast of present day U.S., the Mohegan Tribe of present day southeastern Connecticut, and the Ramah Chapter of the Diné Nation in parts of present day Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico, spotted bee balm is traditionally used as a fever aid. The plant is also used as a cough remedy and gastrointestinal aid.
