Allium cernuum
With a native range from Canada to Mexico, nodding onion has been used by many Indigenous peoples for flavoring food and remedying a variety of health conditions. The Pueblo of Isleta in New Mexico have used a poultice applied externally to treat sore throats. The Cherokee people of the Southeastern US have used the juice to treat colds, hives, and kidney or liver problems.
