Perennial herb to 50cm; stems hirsute, simple. Leaves to 8cm, oblanceolate to linear lanceolate, entire. Capitula radiate, solitary, to 7cm diamter; phyllaries lanceolate; ray florets narrow, reflexed; disc florets brown-rust to orange. Pappus silky, tinged red. Late summer-autumn.
