Clump-forming, hardy, herbaceous perennial, foliage to 30cm high, flowering stems to 80cm, staking not normally required. Leaves 7x3cm, lanceolate, matt, mid-green, margin crenulate, petiole 2mm long. Flowering stems pale green, fairly stout. Inflorescence 25cm long, stiff, branching racemes densely set with whorls of flowers. Flower 10x3mm, violet (86B). Small bracts 7x7mm with pointed tips deep pink (63C) flushed a slightly darker pink (64D) are clearly defined at tip of inflorescence. Flowering from 10 June.
