Description
This cultivar has large flowers, up to 8" in diameter with 12 to 18 tepals. The inside surface of the tepals is white; the outside surface grades from a greyed-purple at the base to a red-purple at the apex; in Washington, D.C. it flowers in mid to late April. Source of description is the National Arboretum distribution list that is currently glued in the 1968 accession book.
