Description

Plants reach 50' in height and 30'-40' in width with an oval head. A vigorous grower that produces large, thick, lustrous dark green leaves, and has shown good resistance to bronze birch borer attack. Bark on young trees is light tan with traces of pink which matures to exfoliatig white bark. The original trees were imported from Japan by Storrs & Harrison Nursery, Painesville, Ohio in the 1930's and are still standing today.
