Description

A witches broom found by Jerry Morris on a plant in the Coronado Forest about 15 miles south of Alpine, Arizona in 1991. Upright, oval shaped, almost squared off at the top, but with irregular, random branching. Height 40", width 40" after 8 years; estimated growth rate 4-6" per year. Considered by the originator to be a unique dwarf conifer. Originator and nominant Jerry Morris, 8169 West Virginia Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80226; registrant Andrew Doran of Denver Botanic Gardens on behalf of originator.
