Selected for abundant inflorescences of dark red (Currant Red 821/2 to 821/3) flower buds which open towhite petals with red-blotched (Currant Red 821/3) reverse; strong, spicy, clove fragrance, and glossy,dark green foliage that turns brilliant orange-red in autumn. It is resistant to bacterial leaf spot andpowdery mildew. The original compact plant is 7' high and 7 1/2' wide. Hybridized and selected by Donald Egolf at the U.S. National Arboretum, Washington, D.C. Color designations according to the R.H.S. Colour Chart, 1942 and 1966 (DS 128).
