Description

Pale pink or blue ray flowers; early-flowering, vigorous, reaching 5' in height, and drought resistant. H. serrata is July-August flowering (DS 9). A small robust shrub with stout shoots and abruptly acuminateleaves. The blue fertile flowers are borne in slightly dome-shaped corymbs, surrounded by large ray florets which are reddish-purple on chalk soils, and a lovely sea-blue on acid soils. Reputedly a select form of H. serrata acuminata, but in our experience the two are identical. A.M. 1960; A.G.M. 1969.
