Description

Shoots hirsute at first, soon glabrous, purple, the thorns sparse. Leaves 6 cm long with 4 to 7 deeply incised, slender lobes, these slightly dentate towards the apex. (the following from Bailey 1996 catalog) Small tree reaching 15'-18' in height, and 18' to 20' in width, with a slightly irregular branching pattern; good resistance to cedar apple rust.
