Description
Densely branched, slow-growing shrub reaching 2 m in height, the internodes very short and leaves densely packed at the branch tips, broadly ovate 4-8 cm long, dark green above, lighter beneath, appressed pubescent with 4-5 pairs of veins. Flowers white, held in long-stalked cymes in July; fruitsblack. Origin unknown, in cultivation since 1800; rare.
