Description

This golden tree has clssic Sitka Spruce size and shape. The parent tree was revered by the Haida of the Queen Charlotte Islands and was to be admired until the last generation of the tribe, but was felled by a vandal in 1997. Fortunately, scion wood had been taken in 1977 and propagated. Two of those original trees were planted at the University of British Columbia, one of which was later given to the Haida to replace the tree that had been lost.
