Perennial with forking branches reaching 2' in height; leaves opposite, ovate to oblong-lanceolate, 1" to 4"long, drooping or spreading, pubescent to glabrous beneath, mostly petioled; corolla pink, mostlycampanulate, to 3/8" long and broad, 2 to 3 times as long as calyx lobes; follicles to 6" long, straight,erect to pendulous at maturity.
