State departments of agriculture offer educational opportunities for farmers to proactively adopt new food safety measures on the farm

NASDA's On Farm Readiness Review (OFFR) program is one way to help farmers adopt food safety measures. The program connects farmers with agricultural and extension specialists who help them to identify food safety risks on their farms and teach them how to meet the food safety standards required by the Food Safety Modernization Act’s Produce Safety Rule.
