Cornell relies on dedicated volunteers and other conservation partners to participate in and support our highly managed deer hunting program, and annually accepts responsible hunters into the program. This is not only an opportunity to help preserve the integrity of these unique habitats, it is a privilege that is earned and maintained.

Hunting areas span three different wildlife management units. Natural areas that allow firearm deer hunting and management are closed to the public annually to ensure visitor safety. This year’s firearm deer seasons are November 16 through December 17, 2024 and January 13 through January 31, 2025. Other deer management activities occur February 1 - March 31, 2025.
