The site is part of a larger area owned by the New York State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. In 2003 the bog and the area north of Lake Road were transferred to Cornell Botanic Gardens’ management. It also contains active beaver dams and various wetland habitats, and is ideal site wildlife viewing, especially birding.
Please note that the wetland habitat is extremely sensitive, so visitors must remain on the boardwalk to help protect this fragile natural area.
