Description

Dwarf shrub reaching 35-40 cm in height with a dense, compact habit and rust-brown pubescent shoots (!). Leaves oval-rounded, somewhat leathery, 1.5-3 cm long, to 2 cm wide, very rugose (!), coarsely serrate, somewhat bullate, dark green above, light green beneath. Flowers dark pink, held in small,4-9 cm wide compound corymbs, stamens reddish, somewhat longer than the petals, effective in July. Known only in cultivation.
