Description

Probably what Mickel in DS 97 describes as a garden plant reputed to be a selection of A. felix-femina X A. nipponicum 'Pictum'; he suspects it is an Asiatic species. The plant is described in the Roslyn Nursery catalog as reaching 2' in height with silvery fronds and red petioles, and being a hybrid of "Japanese painted fern and red-stemmed lady fern." Sunny Border Ohio says this hybrid was selected by Nick Nicou of Branford, CT.
