Description

Sturdy, upright stems with blue cast, dark purple closer to base. Brilliant, fiery-colored foliage through fallwith blades are thicker than other Schizachyrium cultivars. A warm season grass that does well in poor, dry soils. Spikey bluish-green stems and leaves transition to a display of oranges, reds, yellows, and purplish-browns in the autumn. Also provides winter interest before cutting back in early spring to make way for new growth. Height 3-4', spread 12". Bloom color is silver.
