Description
Stems c.175cm, erect, unbranched. Lower stem leaves c.19x8 cm, broadly ovate, pinnatisect, the segments toothed or pinnatifid with rounded, forward-pointing segments continuous with teeth of the rachis, primary segments not overlapping; middle stem leaves c.11 x 3cm, elliptic or ovate. Capitula in very dense, domed corymbs 8-10cm across; involucre c.5 x 3mm, weakly and sparsely hairy, outer bracts triangular, carinate, with a pale midrib (narrowly surrounded green) and a pale, scarious margin. Ray florets 2-4, ligule c.1 x 1.5mm, tightly reflexed, yellow (13A); disc florets yellow.
