Description

Stems to 3' in height, leaves basal, ternate, shiningabove; leaflets long-petioled, cordate, 3- to 5-lobed,lobes acuminate; raceme long, sometimes branched at thebase, flowers sessile; follicles stipulate (DS 3). Plants 3' to 4' tall; similar to C. japonica var.acerina but with panicles more open, leaflets muchsmaller, and blooming about 2 weeks earlier (DS 304). Glossy stems 1 to 1.5 m tall. Leaves long-petioled,finely divided, shining upper surfaces. Flowers incandle-like, dense, long, racemes, snow-white, Aug. toSept. (DS 328).
