Description
Perennial to 30cm, shorter at flowering; rhizomes and roots stout. Leaves basal, overwintering, coriaceous, pedate, central leaflet undivided, laterals with 3-5 lobes, segments elliptic or oblanceolate, to 20x6.5cm, usually densely hairy beneath, margin coarsly serrate; petioles to 28cm, green. Infloresence branched, short at first, elongating later; flowers usually 3-5, united below. Follicles to 2cm, narrow at base; seeds dark brown, ridged.
