Description

Plants 12" tall, 18" wide; petioles ascending in an arch, leaves elliptical, ovate to lanceolate, about 7" long and 3" wide, shiny dark green above and light green underneath. Scape erect but leaning in the upper part, the sterile lower bracts leaf-like, occasionally about 2 large sterile leaflike bracts near the bud make it appear beak-like. Flowers white, shiny, sometimes suffused purple in the middle of the lobe, carried horizontally on strong pedicels, effective in August.
