Description

An herbaceous, pubescent to glabrous, perennial herb, to 30cm. Rhizome short. Leaves to 25cm, mostly basal, pinnate, lanceolate-oblong, leaflets in 2-3 pairs, to 7.5 x 3 cm, sessile to subsessile, lanceolate-oblong, serrate, upper-most pair smaller than basal pairs; petioles to 20cm; stem leaves 1-2, to 2cm, subsessile, opposite to alternate. Flowers to 5cm diameter, yellow-orange; peduncles to 10cm, solitary, erect; sepals to 1.5cm, 2, overlapping, ovate, acute; petals 4; stamens many, yellow. Fruit a 1-chambered, silique-like capsule to 8cm.
