Description

To 1.5m, often purple-tinged. Stems glabrous or hairy. Basal leaves to 25x20cm, triangular-reniform to subsagittate, dentate, subglabrous to densly hairy beneath, stem leaves smaller, few, upper narrower, subsessile. Capitula numerous, c3cm diameter, in lax, bracteate racemes, the bracts linear to lanceolate; involucre to 20mm, subtended to 2 linear bracts equalling the involucre; phyllaries 8-10, lanceolate, ray florets 7-11, yellow, to 20x5mm; disc florets many. Fruits 4-6mm; pappus grey-white, exceeding fruit body.
