Description
Herbaceous perennial to 30cm. Rhizomes creeping, branched, woody. Stems many, erect, branching near base. Leaves linear, narrow, more spathulate near base of stem, grooved, more or less blunt, margin toothed toward tip. Inflorescence a lax, paniculate, many-flowered cyme; flowers sessile above, stalked below, 18mm across; sepals 5, linear, blunt, half petal length; petals 5, 5-6mm, oblong-lanceolate, narrow-pointed, yellow; stamens 10, anthers orange. Follicles 4mm, yellow-green, spreading. (DS 350) Low tufts of erect stems clothed in narrow, reddish-brown leaves, forming a pleasing contrast to the many cymes of bright yellow flowers.(DS 147)
