Description
Low perennial, forming tight cushions up to 6" across; lower stems covered with small spines, leavescylindrical, 1/2"long; flowers rose (DS 3). From a short, thick, trunk, grow almost woody branchletsclothed with fat, needle-like leaves. The stiff, straight flower stems branch into twigs which carrymany wine-red flowers, again centered by attractive stamens (DS 147).
