Description

Similar to T. 'Woolly-stemmed Sharp', but sterile shoots longer and more prominent; flowering stems more rarely branched; leaves a little wider (2.5-3.0 mm) with more distinct lateral veins and a very sweet,slightly citric scent; inflorescence more elongated with the lowermost verticillasters distinctly remote,particularly on the terminal shoot; upper lip of calyx longer than the tube; blooming period mid-July tomid-August; only female plants known. Similar to 'Woolly-stemmed Sharp' in both morphology andhorticultural use. The two have been given similar cultivar names to indicate probable taxonomicrelationship, but distinguished as separate taxa on the basis of their distinct fragrances, and some slightmorphological differences. In addition, both cultivars are presently distinguished nomenclaturally in thetrade.
