Description

Deciduous shrub to 2.5m. Branches somewhat ridged, stout, downy, the branching pattern sparse or closely divaricate, varying with climate. Leaves 5-10cm, leaflets 10-16mm, 12-21, obovate or oval, apex rounded or notched with a setaceous tip, grey downy throughout, somewhat glaucous. Flowers 13mm, 24 or more in densely packed, erect, terminal racemes 7-15cm long; pedicels short; calyx pubescent, lobes lanceolate; corolla pale pink, rosy purple or crimson. Fruit 30-50x3mm, cylindric; seeds 6-10.
