Description
Dense shrub with delicate twigs reaching 2 m in height; bark on the older stems chestnut-brown and exfoliating. Leaves ovate, 6-9 cm long, serrate, long-acuminate, both sides totally glabrous except leaves on the flowering shoots sometimes with tufts on the venation beneath. Flowers fragrant, yellowish-white, purple-striped on the dorsal side before fully opening, held in dense racemes of 5 to 9 flowers.
