Description

Low, much-branched, stoloniferous, deciduous shrub, which averages 4' to 6' in height, but ranges fromdwarfish (2') to relatively large (10') over the native habitat. The foliage is bright green in summer,turning dull yellow in fall. The flowers vary in color from impure white or pale pink to deep violet and openin late April or early May. The flowers are fragrant, each about 1 1/2" across, borne 6 to 12 together beforethe leaves.
