Description
A vigorous shrub producing erect, peeling, thornless stems up to 3 m in height. Leaves 3- to 5-lobed. Flowers 5 cm across, glistening white with a central boss of golden-yellow stamens, produced singly allalong the arching branches in May. R.H.S. awards: A.M. 1958, A.G.M. 1962, F.C.C. 1963 (DS 58). Flowers 3" across, fragrant, borne in May and June; vigorous growth up to 8' per year (DS 265).
