Description
The original seedling germinated in Tom Dilatush's brother's vegetable garden, carried there in leaf mold collected from the New Jersey Pine Barrens. The plant was given to Mike Johnson of Summer Hill Nursery in Madison, CT. Madison has propagated and grown the plant and it has found a measure of commercial acceptance in the Northeast. Plants reach 3'-4' in height and produce lustrous dark green foliage, terminal and axillary inflorescences.
