Description
Resulted from a cross made by F.L. Skinner in 1922 in Dropmore, Manitoba, using pollen from the Arnold Arboretum. Four cultivars were selected from this cross and were introduced in 1935 (DS 210). Leaves similar to S. villosa. Flowers mauve-red opening rose-pink, borne in dense nodding paniclesin late spring (DS 350).
