Description

A large tree which can reach 40 m or more in the wild. The comparatively broad, stiff, leathery needles are 1.5-4 cm long, yellowish-green above, with 2 greyish-green stomatic bands beneath. They areconspicuously notched on the lateral branches, densely crowded, with a v-shaped parting on the upper side of the shoots, loosely pectinate below. Cones 8-15 cm long, yellowish-green when young, bracts slightly exserted.
