Description

Small tree, often shrubby in habit; twigs densely pubescent when young; leaves ovate, 3-7 cm long, acute, the base oblique, margins sharply serrate on young plants, on older plants nearly always entire or with a few teeth, rough above, dark green and somewhat rugose, with distinct reticulate venation beneath, somewhat pubescent, leathery. Fruits orange-red, 1 cm across, held on 1 cm long, pubescent stalks.
