Description
20-50 m tall acutely conical tree with short, horizontally spreading branches and nodding branch tips. Bark reddish-brown with rounded scaly plates. Branchlets flat, in an even plane, needles appressed, more or less acute, the lateral leaves keeled with a distinct tip, the facial leaves much smaller, rhombic, often with a gland, the underside with indistinct white lines; cones numerous, small, globose, 8 mm thick, blue-green at first, ripening in the first fall, then becoming brown, 8 scales with compressed papillae.
