Description

Trees to 30 feet tall with a spread to 20' A fast grower with a spreading, open outline. Flowers are large, red-pink. Foliage is dark green and much more heavily textured than the species with red colorations in the new leaves and branches; red fall color. Fruits are sparse. In 10 years of observation, Handy Nursery has observed a somewhat darker, larger leaf with better heat tolerance than Satomi. The bloom has been noticeably darker and holds its color into mid late July.
