Description
Small, rounded tree reaching 20'-30', usually multiple-stemmed or low-branched. Flowers white, four-lobed, 3/4" long, bell-shaped, borne on 1/2" - 3/4" long pedicels in May. The corolla is deeply cut and the flowers are more refined than those of H. caroliniana, and they open 1-2 weeks later. RHS. lists var. magniflora as having larger and more numerous flowers.
