Description
Pyramidal to rounded, often with many trunks in youth, becoming open picturesque, flat-topped and spreading with age. Needles in 3's, held 3 to 4 years. Bark exfoliating in patches like a plane tree, young stems greenish with irregular whitish or brownish areas interspersed. One of the most handsome of pines for bark character.
