Vigorous-growing, open-crowned tree with rounded-ovate shape. Branches usually totally thornless; flowers are rarely produced. Origin is debatable, either in the Laurentius Nursery, Leipzig, Germany in 1860, or in Besson Nursery, Marseille, France.
