Description

Open tree, to 27m, nearly glabrous; branches prickly; bark deeply furrowed with age; young branches and twigs very thorny, olive green to dark red-brown. Leaflets to 5cm, 9-19, elliptic to ovate-obtuse. Racemes dense, nodding, to 20cm; flowers to 2 cm, white to ivory, fragrant; standard blotched with yellow at base. Fruit to 10cm, red-brown, glabrous, the valves persisitent, seeds 4-10. Blooms profuse and prolonged.
