Description
An attractive hemispherical mass of hanging branches. In ten years 2.5m x 1m, if staked. Listed by Beissner in 1887 and vaguely described in Beissner (1891b), with its origins in Germany. Bean (1914)ably describes the plant in European culture, which is presumably the same as Beissner's. Both Swartley (1984) and Welch & Haddow (1993) agree that this is the true plant but several slightly differen clones called 'Pendula' exist in cultivation, so care should be taken.
